Actor & Founder
Out The Box Theatre Company was founded by Josie Kay, a seasoned actor, director, and technician, whose career is rooted in a lifelong commitment to the arts. Josie’s journey began in ballet at four, later expanding to include performance, screen acting, and technical production. Her work with major bands and leading venues inspired her to create a space for accessible, fair opportunities in the arts, informed by her own experiences as a working-class actor with ADHD. Josie’s vision propels Out The Box Theatre as an inclusive, impactful company that breaks down barriers in the performing arts.

Hain Macshoenin
Actor & Executive Director
Scottish actor Hain Macshoenin, based in Kent, brings a wealth of experience to Out The Box, including appearances in major films like Snow White and the Huntsman and The Other Boleyn Girl. With expertise in stage combat and classical theatre, Hain has had prominent roles in productions such as Macbeth, Mojo, and Scrooge. As Executive Director, he applies his comprehensive production knowledge to expand and enrich Out the Box’s innovative, community-centered performances.

Tudor Smith
Multi-Talented Creative Force
Tudor Smith is a performer, musician, and video creator who brings a wealth of diverse skills to Out the Box. From leading roles in productions like The Witness to crafting his own music and videos, Tudor’s creativity and enthusiasm are a cornerstone of the company’s future projects. As a dedicated Equity member and treasurer of the local branch, Tudor is deeply invested in supporting the wider performing arts community.

Astrid Yardley
A Journey of Art and Education
Originally from Durban, South Africa, Astrid Yardley brings a unique perspective as both a performer and educator to Out the Box. With a degree in Performing Arts, she is a staunch advocate for the arts as a tool for personal growth and healing. Her commitment to nurturing creativity and resilience in individuals fuels her work within the company.

Flavia Lloyd
Actor, Film Maker & Neuroscientist
Brazilian-born Flavia Lloyd discovered her passion for acting in the UK and has since contributed her talents to independent film, theatre, and corporate projects. Certified in the Demidov Acting Technique, Flavia splits her time between Brazil and the UK, bringing her distinctive blend of artistic passion and scientific insight to Out the Box, adding layers of intellectual depth and cultural diversity to the team.

Joan Smith
BAFTA Award-Winning Actor and Triple Threat
Joan Smith, a BAFTA-winning actress originally from Bermondsey, South East London, brings a wealth of experience and creativity to Out the Box. With a career spanning feature films, television, and theatre, Joan’s dynamic range and dedication to her craft inspire everyone around her. Now based in Kent, she is a key contributor to the company’s mission of bringing high-quality theatre to local communities.

Georgia Graham
Theatrical Performer and Global Ambassador
Hailing from Folkestone, Georgia Graham is an accomplished musical theatre performer and dancer, currently performing internationally with TUI/TAG Live. Known for her versatility and commanding stage presence, Georgia remains dedicated to her Kent roots and is a vital part of Out The Box’s drive to bring vibrant, world-class theatre to the local community.

Mark Vincent
Actor, Writer, and Voice Artist
Mark Vincent made a remarkable transition from automotive engineering to a career in acting, inspired by mentorship from Josie Kay. Over the past four years, he has developed a substantial portfolio in film, television, stage, and voice work, as well as writing for stage and screen. His versatile talents and dedication add further dimension to Out the Box’s creative vision.

Sharna D’Rosario
Multitalented Performer and Healthcare Professional
Sharna D’Rosario a first-time mother and NHS Patient Safety Officer, Sharna began her performing arts journey at age three, appearing in the Spice Girls’ “Mama” music video and a Lakeside Shopping Centre commercial. She performed at venues like the Royal Opera House and later toured professionally with Park Holidays UK. Now balancing her NHS career, she continues to explore opportunities in TV and film while pursuing her passion for performance.

Siobhan Hustler
A journey through stage screen and spotlight
Raised in Lincolnshire, Siobhan began performing with the Lindsay Rural Players Youth Theatre at the Broadbent Theatre, where her love for Shakespeare and musicals flourished. She went on to perform in pantomimes at the Theatre Royal Lincoln and open-air plays at Lincoln Castle.
After moving to Kent, she joined Astor College for Performing Arts, touring internationally in musicals and concerts, and trained with Blackfish Academy, where she first worked with Josie Kay and Hain. Siobhan’s career includes pageantry, holding 23 titles in three years, and film work, including body doubling in The Other Boleyn Girl. In 2023, she returned to the stage in Alarms and Excursions with Out The Box Theatre Company.
